Linwood Avenue School is fortunate to have a range of community groups and agencies who work with us to support our families, children's learning and development. These include:
The Government and other social agencies provide additional support to help children’s learning and development. We use their services regularly. Some will also work with families.

Christchurch City Council
The City Council's local community team work with the school and children on issues such as community recreation, safety, reducing graffiti and cycle safe programmes.
Friends of Linwood (FOL)
A parent group that supports fundraising, our weekly lunch club and other school events.
The police participate in some of our community events, support Health programmes such as "Keeping Ourselves Safe" and get alongside the children at school on occasions, eg lunch time sausage sizzle.
Presbyterian Support Service
Provide a counsellor for children at school for one day a week.
Provide a school worker who spends a couple of days a week in the school providing support for children, staff and families. They also offer the ASPIRE programme for a group of older children.
The Canterbury Rams basketball team, Canterbury Rugby and Linwood Rugby League all support children involvement in sport and provide some after school coaching on occasions.
Te Mapua Trust
Work with children on holiday camps and some after school programmes. They also provide some social skills groups for children at school.
Operates an after-school programme from our school each school day from 3 - 5.30pm. They also run holiday programmes and have been partnering with our school to operate our swimming pools for public use over summer. The Youthtown team also support our PE and sport programme at school.
