Kapa Haka

Our school enjoys a wide variety of cultures.  We try to ensure they have a presence in the life of the school.  Children have the opportunity each year to join various cultural groups.  We have groups focused on Maori, Pasifika and Indian cultures.

Maori Culture Kapa Haka:
We have a junior and senior kapa haka groups meeting each week..  These perform regularly within the community, at school and at the Christchurch Schools Cultural festival.

There are also weekly te reo Maori lessons for children whose families would like this specific language development.

Other celebrations occur during the year to acknowledge and learn more about Maori culture.

We welcome parent / whānau involvement in this important part of school life and children's learning.
